The character crisis comes about in the younger generation due to a lack of understanding of the values of the national character that are embedded in them.This novel recounts about the innocence, sincerity, and sincerity of love between Ikal and his father.The love of a child and the sacrifice of a father in achieving his dream of fighting against the Dutch.The problem in this study was: what were the values of the national character in the Sebelas Patriotnovel by Andrea Hirata?This study employed a descriptive analysis method. While the steps implemented in collecting data were: 1) reading the Sebelas Patriotnovel by Andrea Hirata as a whole, (2) rereading the novel while marking parts of the work related to the research problem, namely the intrinsic elements and values of the nation's character, and (3) collecting all quotations. The intrinsic elements of the novel and the national character values that have been marked in the novel text are included in the data collection list. Further, to analyze the data, the steps taken were such as: 1) quotations of the same national character were grouped into one group, (2) each classification of the values of the good and bad national character values is further analyzed to be described, lastly (3) interpreted the values.Based on the results of the study, it is revealed that (1) the intrinsic elements include: (a) the theme is love for the country, (b) the mandate is to continue to struggle with enthusiasm and hard work in achieving goals and make past experiences as self-motivation to try better in the future, ( c) the main character is Ikal and the additional characters are Ayah Ikal, Old Hunter, Coach Amin, Toharun Trainer, Mother, Adriana, and Mrs. and setting, (f) point of view using the first person “I”, and (g) language style including smile and hyperbole style.(2) The found national character values include cooperation, happiness, humility, compassion, responsibility, simplicity, and unity. The most dominant national character value is happiness and the least national character is simplicity. It is suggested to readers and observers of literary works, particularly students, that they should deepen their study of literary works, especially regarding the values of national character in works of fiction.
