Description

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan pencapaian berbicara berdasarkan daerah mahasiswa/i bahasa Inggris di program study bahasa Inggris Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu tahun akademik 2018/2019. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode qualitative. Responden penelitian ini adalah 4 mahasiswa/i semester tujuh yang berasal dari setiap daerah di program studi bahasa Inggris yang berasal dari Bengkulu Tengah, Kaur, Seluma, Kepahiang, Lebong, Rejang Lebong, and Mukomuko. Instrumen yang digunakan penilitian ini adalah rubrik penilaian pencapaian berbicara berdasarkan teori Harris (1969). Hasil penelitian ini adalah, semua daerah dalam pengucapan adalah tingkatannya luar biasa, dua daerah adalah tingakatannya luar biasa dalam ketepatan tatanahasa dan lima daerah adalah sangat bagus tingkatannya, empat daerah adalah bagus tingkatannya dalam kefasihan dan tiga daerah adalah buruk tingkatannya. Jadi, semua daerah tidak mempunyai perbedaan signifikan tapi tiga daerah lemah kafisihannya. Saran untuk mahasiswa dan mahasiswi harus belajar giat dalam praktek berbicara untuk mencoba kefasihan nya sampai selesai untuk pesan yang ingin kamu komunikasikan karena dengan kefasihan yang baik dapat membuat pendengar lebih mengerti apa yag pembicara katakan untuk daerah Bengkulu Tengah, Lebong dan Seluma yang tingkat nya buruk.
