Description

The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of using Read, Cover, Remember, Retell (RCRR) Strategy on students’ reading comprehension. The design of this research is quasi experimental method. The subjects of this research were 14 students. The instrument used in this research was a test. There were two kinds of test, pre-test and post-test. Pre-test was given before the treatment and post-test after the treatment. The result showed that, there was an increased scores in students’ who used Read, Cover, Remember, Retell (RCRR) Strategy. Although T-count was lower than T-table (1.1904 < 1.70562) where the total score was 590 and mean score was 84.28 for experimental group. In control group the total score was 555 and mean score was 79.28. The researcher suggested that this strategy is recomended to teach reading comprehension in the class to increase students’ score. For the students, this strategy is useful and usable to improve students’ knowledge in reading comprehension like vocabulary.
