Description

Teaching strategies are the methods chosen by educators in determining the scope, sequence of discussion, learning activities, and so on in delivering material to students in classroom. In learning process, it is often found that when students are given written assignments, they always try to immediately start writing the answers. Even though it is not something wrong, but it will be more meaningful if the students firstly doing thinking activities, reflecting and composing ideas, and testing those ideas before starting to write. The Think-Talk-Write (TTW) strategy discussed in this study was built by giving students time to do activities as were priorly mentioned (thinking, reflecting and to compile ideas, and testing the ideas before writing them). Think-Talk-Write learning strategy is an effort to improve language skills. Language elements obtained by using the Think-Talk-Write model are stages of thinking that can foster childrens’ ability in listening, reading, and writing. The stage of Talk can be used to improve the ability to speak, write, and listen. Elsewhere, the stage of Write could improve both listening and writing skills.
