Description

The aim of this research was to know lecturer‟s teaching strategies in
TOEFL Workshop at UPT Bahasa of Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu.
The data were collected from 5 English lecturers as instructors at UPT Bahasa of
Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu who taught workshop material of
TOEFL test. The researcher used a descriptive qualitative method to expose the
facts related study which is going to be discussed. The instruments in this research
used observation checklist. The result lecturers` teaching strategies in TOEFL
Workshop at UPT Bahasa of Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu was direct
Method. Because the lecturers taught students by giving direct instruction in the
workshop TOEFL to get the understanding how tricks and tips to answer the
TOEFL test in every section. This teaching strategy gave the opportunity for
students to answer TOEFL test better than without following workshop. It is
suggested for the next students who will follow workshop TOEFL in the future,
they can be more serious to follow TOEFL workshop to get the great score 450 in
TOEFL test as the target of graduated for English Education Program.
