Description

The objectives of this research are to identify the kinds of style and the
dominant of language style that used by students speaking class. The design of this
research is descriptive qualitative research. The instruments of this research are
Observation script from student’s video to identify the language style used by the
students in speaking class that they uploaded into their YouTube Channel. The
objects of this research are students speaking for debate class at 4 semester in English
Education Study Program at Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu 2019/2020. The
researcher found some types of language style; Frozen, Formal, casual, consultative,
intimate. The language style used in students speaking class video are frozen (21%),
formal (26%), casual (53%), consultative (0%), intimate (0%). It can be seen from the
percentage, casual language style is the most dominant type used in students speaking
class video. The researcher also found the dominant language style that used by
students.
