Description

This research discussed about presupposition used in the comic Captain
America “Steve Rogers 1-19”. The objectives of this research are to identify the form
of presuppositions and to elaborate the implicature of presuppositions in Comic
Captain America “Steve Rogers 1-19”. The design of this research is descriptive
qualitative research. The instrument of this research are the text in the comic Captain
America “Steve Rogers 1-19” and the datasheets. The object of this research is the
utterances contained in the comic Captain America “Steve Rogers 1-19” which
allegedly contains presupposition. The researcher found some types of
presupposition, those are existential, factive, non-factive, lexical, structural and
counterfactual. The presupposition used in comic Captain America “Steve Rogers 1-
19” are existential (68,09 %), factive (10,79 %), non-factive (1,43%), lexical (4,35
%), structural (10,55%) and counterfactual (5,78%). It can be seen from the
percentage, existential presupposition is the most dominant type used in comic
Captain America “Steve Rogers 1-19”. The researcher also found the implicature
those are 315 conventional and 203 conversational
