The researcher chose Hamka's collection of short short stories Di DalamLembahKehidupan because these short stories have human values that must be studied, both positive and negative values. The human value reflected in the short story is a picture of the problems faced by today's society as well. The formulation of the problem in this study was how were the human values contained in the collection of short stories Di DalamLembahKehidupan. This study aimed to describe the human values contained in the collection of short stories in Hamka'sDi DalamLembahKehidupan. The data collection technique implemented in this study was using literature study. This study employed a descriptive method. The data analysis techniques were carried out through steps, namely identifying types of human values, grouping the same data, describing human values found in short stories, interpreting human values, and making conclusions. The data validity techniques in this study were extended participation, persistence of observation, and peer examination through discussion, detailed descriptions, auditing. The results in this study are the truth value is 23, the value of peace is 6, the value of responsibility is 3, the value of love or affection is 7, the value of affection is 6, the value of courtesy is 1, the value of self-confidence is 10, good and low values the number of hearts is 2, and the value of justice is 1. While, the values of tolerance and love of peace are not found.
