Human Resource Management (HRM) is still under the control of the Human Resource Department (HRD) in an organization that is not only tasked with regulating the flow of labor but also responsible for employee’s personal and professional needs. Since 1900, the discussion about workers has become a serious issue that relation to work / life balance. The HR department in organization must be responsive to the issue because workers are at the main part of the organization's path. This paper aims to show that human resource management is important to do to prevent degeneration in the world of labor.
Currently, employment in Indonesia is dealing with the emergence of Baby Boomers, the mindsets of the millennial and the economic pressure in all fields. Transition between generations in the world of work is a separate challenge that must be faced by HRD in the company and driving to continue to develop strategic planning in managing the workforce. The Baby Boomers and Millennial have a significant difference in looking at the world of work, in addition, the creation of skilled labor in Indonesia still develop into its own dilemma to create a workforce that suits the needs of the company.
