This study aimed at finding out: 1) Islamic perspective on students’ character education at Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu, 2) characteristics of students’ character education at Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu; 3) the effectiveness of Islamic education implementation and students’ character education at Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu. This study employed quantitative descriptive analysis method. The data collection techniques was conducted through doing three activities, namely: interview, observation, and documentation. Further, the techniques of analyzing and processing data used during the study were through descriptive analysis, conclusion taking techniques and data verification. This study utilized procedures that were needed in conducting the research such as preparing an observation format for Islamic education and character education, setting a schedule of activities, and preparing instruments in the form of questionnaires for students and lecturers. The results of the study can be revealed that the Islamic perspective on students’ character education is first in order the students and lecturers are accustomed to doing good deeds. Second, in order that human interaction to Allah SWT and other living things is always well-maintained and harmonious. The characteristics of character education in students have reflected the eighteen indicators of character education.
