Digital data has become very important in this era, this is related to the demands of fast and accurate information needs, thus encouraging innovation to make various media as the data source. Face recognition is one of the fields of artificial intelligence research that is part of biometric technology. The development of this technology allows us to make a system that can help people in the recognition of a digital image. One of the fields that have been being developed nowadays is pattern recognition. This technology identifies a person's specific physical characteristics.
In this study the problem that will be solved is how to implement the Eigenface Algorithm for face recognition particularly in the picture of the Muhammadiyah Member Card. This study aims to find out how eigenface algorithms work to recognize faces and know how much accuracy is obtained from face recognition using this Eigenface algorithm.
The Tests performed on face image samples available in the database managed to recognize 9 face images from 10 facial image samples contained in the database, while testing with 5 facial image samples that are not contained in the database were all well recognized. From the result of the tests, it can be seen that the level of accuracy obtained by using eigenface algorithm and calculated with confusion matrix at an accuracy of 93%. Errors in recognition can occur due to the similarity of features that exist between two or more different samples.
