This research discusses the renewal thinking of KH. Ahmad Dahlan about education. Renewal of education KH. Ahmad Dahlan was motivated by the dualism / dichotomy of the education system in Indonesia in the 18th century. In addition, there was also the influence of the tajdid movement originating from the Middle East towards the development of religious thought in the archipelago. In this case KH. Ahmad Dahlan received influence from Ibn Taimiyyah, Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab, KH. Ahmad Dahlan took the spirit of purification

/ purification with the slogan back to the Qur'an and the Sunnah, while from Muhammad Abduh and Rashid Ridho, KH. Ahmad Dahlan took the spirit of renewal / modernization carried out through the education movement as the spearhead. KH. Ahmad Dahlan founded the Muhammadiyah persyarikatan as a means to realize and develop his educational concepts.

The formulation of the problem in this study is how KH thought. Ahmad Dahlan about the integration of religious sciences in general knowledge, how the conditions of education at the University of Muhammadiyah Bengkulu and how the application of education KH. Ahmad Dahlan at the University of Bengkulu.

This type of research is qualitative with historical methods. In this historical method the data needed are documents, both from the literature and in the form of historical relics or track records in the form of Muhammadiyah colleges.
