Description
The objective of this research was to find out and describe the associative meaning used in politics articles on Jakarta Post. The subject of this research was of 8 politic articles on Jakarta Post published from June to July, 2020. The design of this research was descriptive method. The instrument of this research was note taking the technique used to collect data contained in a literary work, and then written in the form of note. The result of this study was all of associative meaning used in politics article there are connotative meaning, social or stylistic meaning, affective meaning, reflective meaning, and collocative meaning. The stylistic or social meaning is dominated in this research used in politics article on Jakarta Post. The used of this meaning is intended to make the reader more interested and understand more about the meaning conveyed by the author in the article. This happens because meaning has an impact on the feelings and emotions of the reader.
