Description

The objective of the research was to find out the Causes of Students’ Error in Translating Phrasal Verb Sentences English into Indonesia Language at English Education Study Program of Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu. The design of this research was descriptive method. The instrument of the research was translation test and questionnaire. The result of the research, First, the are two kinds of error in translating phrasal verb from English to Bahasa Indonesia, they are: Ommision of meaning and Modification of Meaning. Second, there are some causes of error in translating phrasal verb, they are: not concentration in learning phrasal verb, anxiety, and lack knowledge about phrasal verb.From the result, the researcher will give suggestion for the students: The students should give more attention to the English lesson especially the English phrasal verb because the English phrasal verb is a part of grammar. Grammar becomes one of the important aspects of learning the language. In other words, students should master the phrasal verbs since it a part of English grammar.
