THE STUDY OF EXTROVERT AND INTROVERT STUDENTS’ STRATEGYIN PRACTICING SPEAKING SKILL AT ENGLISH EDUCATION PROGRAMOFMUHAMMADIYAH UNIVERSITY OF BENGKULU

The aims of the research were to find out extrovert and introvert students strategies in practicing speakingand to find out the differences strategies between extroverted and introverted students in practicing speakingat third semester English Study Program students of University of Muhammadiyah Bengkulu. In this research, the researcher used descriptive qualitative research method. The subjects of the research were the students at third semester in English Study program of Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu in academic year 2019/2020.In this research, the researcher used two research instruments to collect the data. Those are personality inventory and questionnaire. There were two findings of this research; (1) Extrovert and introvert students strategies in practicingspeakingat third semester English Study Program students of University of Muhammadiyah Bengkulu were memory strategy, cognitive strategy, compensation strategy, metacognitive strategy, affective strategy, cognitive strategy, and social strategy. (2) The differences strategies between extroverted and introverted students in practicingspeakingat third semester English Study program students of University of Muhammadiyah Bengkulu were extrovert students dominantly applied affective stratey in practicing speakingwhile introvert students dominantly applied memory strategy in practicing speaking. x
