COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES OF SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISE (SMEs) IN ISLAMIC PERSPECTIVES

Description

The small and medium enterprise (SMEs)) sector has strongly proven, when the 1997-1998 global economic crisis occurred, only the SMEs sector survived the collapse of the economy, while the larger sector actually collapsed by the crisis. Economic power cannot be enforced without competitiveness. In order to be able to compete in the increasingly fierce business competition with various similar products by large companies and make the challenge a business opportunity to introduce products produced by various SMEs in Indonesia, all these SMEs must have sustainable competitive advantages (SCA). The country is obliged to participate in building people's economy which will bring prosperity and benefit to the people themselves. Economic activity (mu'amalah) as a form of implementation of relations between human beings (Hablumminannas), is a part that cannot be separated from akidah, ibadah and akhlak. According to Islam economic, has special characteristics that distinguish it from the economic system in general (conventional). Economic is part of an integral Islamic system and Islam has also given the country authority to interfere in the functionalization of the Islamic economic system.
This paper is a review of several research journals. Research on the competitive advantage of the SMEs has been carried out quite a lot before, especially in the last five years (2010-2016), so that the results of these studies can contribute both theoretically and practically to stakeholders or related agencies. SMEs business actors should improve their skills and better understand current technological developments, so that their marketing concepts and promotional products are widespread and attract many potential buyers. The government needs to prepare strategic steps to encourage industrial growth in the national scope, especially SMEs in order to be able to face more competitive competition among ASEAN countries.
