“ASUH" food has a definition that the food must be free from harmful of contamination, has a high nutritional value, is not mixed with other ingredients, and is processed based on Islamic Shari'a so that it is halal for consumption. Animal food quality that is safe, healthy, whole, and halal is an important matter and must be fulfilled in the effort to implement a good food security system. However, some animal-origin food problems are troubling the community, including the discovery of fake meat (the sale of pork in the beef trade), a mixture of chicken dead of great and rat meat in the various business of culinary food, and the presence of preservatives and harmful chemicals in food. The process of selecting animal food supply groups such as eggs, meat and milk are essential in order to meet the needs of safe, healthy, whole and halal. There is a system that guarantees policies in determining the quality and quantity of animal food choices. In order to prepare good animal food, the company is must implement a food safety system, namely HACCP which used as a prevention and controlling of food security. Besides, compulsory animal food is also required to be registered with LPPOM MUI as a guarantee of halalness. Therefore this article aims to analyze the understanding of animal foods that are ASUH, how to be smart and quickly choose animal foods, as well as policy regulations in the supply of animal foods
