ANALYSIS OF INTERPERSONAL MEANING ON INSTAGRAM CAPTION OF ENGLISH EDUCATION STUDENTSMUHAMMADIYAH UNIVERSITY OF BENGKULU

The objectives of this research were to find out the component of interpersonal meaning on English students‟ Instagram captions of Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu and to find out the mood types of interpersonal meaning on English students‟ Instagram captions of Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu. This research used a descriptive qualitative method. The data of this research was taken from the instagram caption. The data can be seen the form of word, phrases, or sentence but they should be direct utterances. The researcher will collect the instagram caption from eight semester English students Study Program of University of Muhammadiyah Bengkulu during januari 2019 –june 2019. Theresearcher only used two kinds of instruments; observation checklist and documentation. There were two findings of this research; (1) The components of interpersonal meaning on English students‟ Instagram captions of Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu were mood and residue. There were 71 data that was identified as mood and 97 data as residue. (2) The mood types of interpersonal meaning on English students‟ Instagram captions of Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu were declarative, introgative, and imperrative. There were 41 data as declarative, 6 data as introgative, and 24 data as imperrative mood types.
