Description

The objective of this research was to find out English Student Listening Comprehension Learning in Third Semester of Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu. The research design of this research used descriptive method. The data collected used questionnaire addopted from Hamouda (2013) research about listening comprehension problem. There are four factors of listening comprehension problem: listening material, linguistic aspects, listener, and speaker. The result of this research, the researcher found there are four problem in listening comprehension among English students at third semester, they are : 1). Listening Material: the students have problem in listening material such as: not interesting topic, unfamilliar topic, unfamilliar word and sentence, grammar structure, long spoken text and etc. 2). Linguistic Aspect: The students difficult to understand listening material when use colloquial language, slang, reduce form, differences or strange pronunciation and accet. 3). Listener: the students difficult to concentration when listen the material, nerveous, quickly forget the word and sentence that was just heard, cannot listen without script, not understand with the speaker said (pronuncation and accent) and etc. 4). Speaker: The students difficult to understanding the listening material because the speaker pronunciation, accent, full of hesitation and pauses, cannot control the speed of speech, difficult to understand the material if did not repeat listen the material in several times and etc. Based on the result above, the researcher gives suggestion for English Students: The students must diminish their problem in listening comprehension. They must try do some activities or more practice to reduce or cope it, to make easier in learning listening comprehension.
