Description
The purpose of this study was to determine the self-instruction strategies of English students in developing their speaking skills in the seventh semester of English education program of Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu. The research design in this study used descriptive qualitative. The instrument used is a questionnaire based on Wehmeyer, Agran, and Hughes (1998) theory. The sample of this study was the seventh semester students, totaling 66 people. The results of this study are about how English students' self-instruction strategy in developing their speaking skills at the seventh semester of English education program of Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu is quite good. With an assessment percentage of 68.2% with fair criteria. Based on the results, the author suggests the seventh semester students to be able to improve their self-instruction strategy in developing their speaking skills.
